Inner oasis

A dark horse occupies the foreground, its body shown in profile and its head turned towards the viewer. An orange bridle marks the face. Behind it, tall green cacti rise above lower rounded forms, with small pale flowers visible at the tops of several stems.

Blue shapes and orange accents gather to the right of the horse, set against light ground and a grey-blue sky. The watercolor uses transparent washes and darker contours to distinguish the animal, plants and surrounding forms. The vertical format keeps these elements close together while leaving open space above them.
